To maximize the effectiveness of our prevention efforts and to ensure we don't do harm, it is important to implement evidence-based prevention. Evidence-based prevention includes programs, practices, and policies that have been shown to be effective through rigorous evaluations to prevent the onset and continuation of substance use, misuse, and other problem behaviors.
